Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has threatened that his government won’t hesitate to drag the President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government to court if needed.

Ortom made this known on Sunday while speaking with newsmen at the Makurdi Airport on the recent order by the President for the revival of some grazing areas in 25 states of the federation.

The Benue State Governor insisted that President Buhari has clearly been misinformed by his aides regarding the matter as the Land Use Act has invested control of such matters in the Governor of the state.

Anaedoonline.ng recalls President Buhari last Thursday, August 19, approved recommendations of a committee to review “with dispatch,” 368 grazing sites, across 25 states in the country, “to determine the levels of encroachment.”

Though Ortom had initially said his state would not give up any of its lands for the establishment of any grazing reserves, he reiterated it again on Sunday at the Airport after returning from Delta State for the burial of the father of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.

The Benue State Governor further called on Nigerians to reject the All Progressives Congress (APC) and vote in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) come the 2023 general elections.

In his view, the APC has disappointed Nigerians and inflicted hardship on the citizens and residents with many anti-people policies.

Ortom added on the issue of privatizing state-owned facilities that his administration won’t be distracted by those sponsoring campaigns against it in the court of public opinion but will respect the wishes of the people.
