The Biafra Nations League (BNL) has condemned the attack on secondary school students by suspected members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Recall that the Comprehensive Secondary School, Nkume in Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State was on Monday attacked by gunmen believed to be members of IPOB enforcing the sit-at-home order.

It was gathered that the gunmen stormed the school premises to stop students from writing their examinations.

The gunmen invaded the school while students were preparing for the English Language paper of the Junior Secondary School Examination.

The incident saw teachers and students run to safety as the gunmen shot sporadically into the air to disperse them.

The gunmen after chasing the students set ablaze some motorcycles belonging to some of the staff and students.

Reacting in a statement sent to Naija News, BNL disassociated itself from constant sit-at-home exercise declared by IPOB.

According to the pro-Biafra, the exercise by the outlawed IPOB was a waste of time.

BNL added that Nigeria has nothing to lose from the exercise, lamenting that criminals have infiltrated IPOB or some members of the group have suddenly turned criminals burning people’s property.

The group urged the leadership of IPOB to fish out the bad eggs among them who are attacking the Igbo students and business men or the South East will look like Syria.

The Biafra Nations League only welcomed the idea of sit-at-home only during Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s appearance in court.

BNL noted that only a direct action against Nigeria government would move them, and not asking the masses to close their businesses every Monday.
