The embattled leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, had sued the Government of Kenya for his ‘illegal extradition’ to Nigeria.
Anaedoonline.ng reports that the case was filed by Nnamdi Kanu’s legal team.
This was made known in a post on Twitter by Aloy Ejimakor, the Special Counsel to the IPOB leader.

“UPDATE: Extraordinary Rendition: Onyendu’s legal team has filed a suit in Kenya against the Kenyan government,” Ejimakor wrote.
Recall that the IPOB leader was reportedly ‘abducted’ and kept in detention for eight days by Kenya security operatives before he was extradited back to Nigeria.
Kanu who has been kept in the custody of the Department of State Services, DSS, since is extradition is expected to continue is trial in October.
The pro-Biafra activist is facing charges bordering on treason, inciting mass killings among others.
Meanwhile, the Southeast caucus of the National Assembly has concluded plans to meet with the Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government over the continued detention of Nnamdi Kanu.
Anaedoonline.ng reports that federal lawmakers resolved to seek a political solution to Nnamdi Kanu’s issues.

The lawmakers arrived at this conclusion during a meeting held in Abuja, at the residence of former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu.
In a communique made available to newsmen on Wednesday, the Southeast caucus agreed to set up a committee to dialogue with the federal government and other stakeholders.
“We elaborately discussed the issue of Mazi Nnamdi and resolved to intervene,” the lawmakers said
“To this end we resolved to set up a committee to constructively interface with relevant stakeholders, the Federal Government and its relevant agencies towards finding a political solution. We will keep Ndigbo abreast of developments in regard.”
