Anaedoonline.ng reports the former Emir spoke on Tuesday in Sokoto State while addressing members of the Tijjaniyya group from the seven North-western states of Nigeria.
He added that though the current situation looks bleak, the citizens can’t afford to give up on Nigeria and must continue to pray for those in positions of authority instead of abusing or cursing them.
He said, “What is expected of us now is patience, fervent prayers and we must stand up to get things better in our own way through legitimate ways.
“We must desist from abusing or cursing our leaders over hardship because the Holy Prophet discouraged that.
“We shall not involve ourselves in corrupt practices and other atrocities because our religion preaches against it.
