Nigeria were defeated 1-0 by unfancied Central African Republic on Thursday, in a FIFA 2022 World Cup qualifier.

The game was played at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos State.

The Super Eagles came into the game with two wins out of two and were widely expected to run over the Wild Beasts.

CAR then grabbed a famous victory against Nigeria in the dying seconds of the game.

K. Namnganda netted the winner in stoppage time to send shock waves throughout the continent.

It is their first win in the qualifying series.
