In the coming week, southeast Nigeria will not only sit at home on Monday but it is going to extend to Tuesday, 19th of October, and Thursday, 21st of October, 2021.

It seems Sit-at-home is now the new norm for the people of Southeast, Nigeria, as they are have seemingly adjusted to the every Monday sit-at-home imposed by the IPOB members. Recall that ever since the arrest of the estranged IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu, Southeast Nigeria has never known peace from incessant Unknown gunmen raids to economic crippling compulsory sit-at-home.

The group declared that every Monday of the week will be a compulsory sit-at-home pending the release of their leader Nnamdi Kanu who was arrested in Kenya earlier this year June 2021. The forcefully enforced Monday holiday started sometime in August and has continued ever since despite the intervention of the federal government, these sit-at-homes sometimes occur twice a week with no movement at all.

The Thursday sit-at-home will be coming in the wake of Nnamdi Kanu’s court trial, remember, IPOB declared sit-at-home for every day Nnamdi Kanu has a court appearance.
