It was a tug of war at Stanford bridge on Sunday evening as visiting Manchester United held Chelsea to a draw in their English Premier League match.

The host team had played quite well and dominated in the first half of the game until the second half and it was a turning point for the visiting team.

United earned their first goal in the 50th minute when Jorginho control-passed to Red Devils forward Jadon Sancho.

The blues on the other hand pressured the visiting team but keep missing out on goals until Aaron Wan-Bissaka committed a foul to earn Chelsea a penalty.

Jorginho, however, rescued Chelsea from losing a home game against visiting United after winning the penalty kick award towards the 70th minute of the game.

The development reduced Chelsea’s leading points against second-place Manchester City and third-place Liverpool.

Anaedoonline.ng understands that Chelsea now leads the premier league table with 30 points, a point ahead of Pep Guardiola’s side and 2 points ahead of rampaging Liverpool.

Chelsea’s next game to defend its current position on the EPL table comes up on December 1 against Watford City.

Meanwhile, two second-half goals were all Arsenal needed on Saturday to defeat a spirited Newcastle side at the Emirates Stadium in their Premier League encounter.

The Gunners were keen to return to winning ways after their 4-0 humbling defeat in the hands of Liverpool but were made to wait till the second half of the game against Newcastle to claim their three points.

Goalscorer Saka was removed from the game in the 65th minute of the encounter and replaced by Brazillian forward, Gabriel Martinelli.

The substitution paid off almost immediately with the Brazillian doubling Arsenal’s lead just about a minute after coming on.

Despite efforts from both teams, the game failed to produce another goal but the two goals already recorded were enough to give Arsenal all three points and move them to fifth on the Premier League table with 23 points from 13 matches played.
