Justice Taiwo Oladipupo of the Federal High Court in Abuja has shifted the suit seeking to disqualify the governor-elect and deputy governor-elect for Anambra State, Charles Soludo and Onyeka Ibezim.

The Judge on Tuesday shifted the suit filed against the winner of the November 6 governorship election by 24 hours.

The suit which was fixed for November 30 has been shifted because the judge will not be on sit today as earlier scheduled, hence, the 24 hours adjustment of the court verdict.

The court did not give any reason for shifting the suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/711/2021, but apologized to lawyers involved in the legal battle and urging them to bear with the court in a notice.

Adindu Valentine and Egwudike Chukwuebuk in a suit filed before the court had claimed that Soludo provide false information in the affidavit (Form EC9) he submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and thus he should be unqualified to contest.

The applicants claimed that the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria in the affidavit claimed that he was contesting the Aguata 2 Constituency seat when he was contesting the Anambra governorship seat.

Defendants in the suit are the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Soludo and Ibezim.
