2023: How Many Governors, Party Chairmen Supporting Tinubu Revealed

Former member of the house of representatives, Abdulmumin Jibrin has revealed that fourteen governors have already thrown their weight behind the 2023 presidential ambition of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

Jibrin, who is the Director-General of the Bola Tinubu Support Group Council added in his tweet on Friday that the chairmen of the APC from 26 states are also backing the presidential ambition of Tinubu.

He added that apart from those listed, there are ongoing talks to get four more governors on board.

Anaedoonline.ng however reports that Jibrin didn’t declare the names and states of those he claimed have declared support for Tinubu’s presidential ambition.

He however charged others to also promote anyone they feel is right to emerge as the next President of Nigeria in 2023.

He wrote: “14 Governors in and 4 in talks. 26 state chairmen in. We will not attack or stop anybody from contesting,” he wrote.

“We exercising our right of choice by promoting Alhaji Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Do same for yours PLS. We will remain gracious and our doors open now and after the victories.”

It will be recalled that Tinubu had in January openly declared his intention to contest for presidency in 2023 when he revealed that he has informed President Muhammadu Buhari of his intention to succeed him as Nigeria’s leader.

Tinubu stated that his ambition to be President has been a life-long ambition, noting that what he did in Lagos in his time as Governor, he has the capacity to do in the entire country.
