EFFECTIVE POLICE PATROL To Commence Around School Environs Immediately – UNIZIK SUG Tell Students

The Student Union Government (SUG) President of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Comr. Anih Chukwuemeka has taken a proactive move to quench the level of insecurity in the school environment.

The SUG President in a press release, revealed the union in collaboration with the Nigerian Police will commence an ‘EFFECTIVE POLICE PATROL’ along Ifite axis (from Book Foundation to Laurel Junction) especially in the Evenings.

It’s no longer story about the level of insecurity in Awka, which has spiraled down to Nnamdi Azikiwe University environment, thereby causing undue hardship and psychological torture on students.

The activities of cultists and thieves in the state capital, awka, especially along Ifite axis has increased overtime.

The Union President, however listed some measures students should follow to avoid falling victim of the robust patrol by security agents.

SECURITY UPDATE
Due to the recent challenges on Security especially as it concerns robbery within Ifite, Awka, the University Saftey Department and the Students’ Union Government, in collaboration with ‘B Division, Anambra State Police Command’ will commence EFFECTIVE POLICE PATROL along Ifite axis (from Book Foundation to Laurel Junction) especially in the Evenings from Today pending other security measures that would take effect from next week.

The Students’ Union Government implore everyone (Students) to:

* Always move around with their Student Identity Card (Faculty, Biometric or School ID). This is the best means of identification as Students of Nnamdi Azikiwe University.

* Avoid Dressing in a way not conforming with the generally accepted standards of behaviour, especially in relation to crime.

* Avoid staying outdoors at late hours.

* Students should not be wary of the Police Presence and should maintain good conducts at all times.
