LATEST: Unknown Gunmen Kill Three Customs, Two NSCDC Officers In Enugu

Unknown gunmen have slain three Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) officials and two Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) officers in Enugu State’s Ozala Nkanu West Local Government Area.

The gunmen targeted the Ozalla neighborhood along Enugu-Port Harcourt Road, as well as the Lomalida axis on Ugwuaji Road, according to reports.

At around 1:30 p.m., gunmen opened fire at a customs post in Ozalla, adjacent to the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH), Ituku-Ozalla.

A customs officer was said to have killed instantaneously, while three other officers were shot and suffered critical injuries.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, the injured were transferred to a neighboring hospital for treatment.

Minutes later, the hoodlums attacked a police checkpoint at Lomalida axis of Ugwuaji Road where some policemen and NSCDC officers were brutally murdered.

Two officers were feared dead from the shooting, while about four others sustained bullet wounds.
