The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) announced a new wave of strike action on Monday, citing differences with Nigeria’s federal government.

After the union’s National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Lagos, dubbed “NEC for NEC,” the union launched a one-month complete strike.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, the academic union announced its decision at a press conference held by ASUU President, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke, on Monday, February 14th, 2022.

UPDATE: ASUU Commence Nationwide Strike On Valentine’s Day

Between March and December 2020, the previous ASUU strike, which lasted nearly nine months (120 days), forced students at the nation’s public colleges to stay at home.
