Reno Omokri, a former presidential aide, has reacted to the arrest of DCP Abba Kyari, the disgraced Super Cop, and four others on drug-related charges.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) charged the former IRT leader with cocaine trafficking on Monday, which led to his arrest by the police.

CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Police Deputy Public Relations Officer, said in a statement on Monday evening that the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, has ordered Abba Kyari and four others to be transferred to the NDLEA immediately.

“The Nigeria Police Force has arrested DCP Abba Kyari and four other police officers for their alleged involvement in an alleged case of criminal conspiracy, discreditable, unethical, and unprofessional conduct, official corruption, and tampering with exhibits in a case of illicit drug trafficking involving a perpetual transnational drug cartel,” the police statement reads in part.
The policemen were arrested as a result of information obtained from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) leadership on February 10, 2022.”

Omokri praised the Nigerian Police for arresting DCP Abba Kyari and four others over alleged ties to an international narcotics syndicate in response to the news.

He asked the Nigeria Police Force not to let Kyari’s case end up like that of Ibrahim Magu, the former EFCC chairman, and Aisha Buhari, the former First Lady’s security assistant.

“I applaud the Nigerian Police for apprehending DCP Abba Kyari,” he added. His case, however, must not go the way of the supposedly rogue former EFCC chief Magu, whose case was pushed under the rug, or Aisha Buhari’s ADC, who was detained and then vanished from view!”
