Davido, a Nigerian music singer, has delivered on his vow to contribute N250 million to 292 orphanage homes around the country.
Remember that in November 2021, the ‘OBO crooner made headlines when he urged his friends and coworkers to give one million Naira apiece.
Within hours, the singer’s goal was reached, as he got N200 million from friends and colleagues in the business.

For days, Davido was the talk of the town, with CNN even interviewing him about collecting so much money in such a short period of time.
Davido contributed N50 million to the total, bringing the total to 250 million Naira, and stated that the money will be donated to orphans in Nigeria.
In a message on Instagram, Davido stated that he has received successful transactions from 292 orphanages across Nigeria, including the Federal Capital Territory.
“As promised, I provide you an update,” said part of the statement. The members of the committee have been working extensively since its inception to compile the names and information of the recorded and verified orphanages.
“A total of N250 million has been distributed to 292 orphanages so far.”
