Nnamdi Kanu Appears In Fendi Clothes Again As DSS Disobeys Court Order (Photos)

The lawyer for Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mike Ozekhome (SAN), has criticised his client’s return in the same costume.

Nnamdi Kanu’s trial has resumed at the Federal High Court in Abuja, according to Anaedoonline.ng.

The IPOB leader, who is facing a 15-count charge brought by the federal government, wore the same clothes he has been wearing since his trial began in June 2021.

Ozekhome questioned the DSS about why his client was not permitted to change his fendi garments despite a court order before Justice Binta Nyako.

He accused the security service of blocking Kanu from receiving new clothing that his younger brother, Emmanuel, had brought to him.

“My Lord will see the defendant in the same uniform that my Lord cautioned against in the previous hearings,” Ozekhome said.

“It will be remembered that they had said on that day that he said he wanted to wear the same material since it is designer.”

“However, the defendant’s younger brother, his lawyer, and his sister have gone three times with items for him to modify since that time, but they have refused to collect them.”

Court Instructs DSS To Allow Nnamdi Kanu Change Clothes

“It got to the point where Ejiofor had to phone the Director of Legal Services and complain.”

“The Director promised him he’d take care of it, that he’d call the Director of Operations to make sure the order was followed out.

“But since then, nothing has been done. They have not allowed him to change his clothes.”

Recall that Justice Binta Nyako had in January directed the DSS to allow Kanu to have a bath whenever he wants to, change his clothes, eat properly and practice his faith.

“I don’t want to see him in these clothes again. This one is almost off-white. Also, make sure that you allow him to exercise,” she said.
