Cubana Chief Priest, a popular socialite and Special Adviser to the Governor of Imo State on Social Media and Social Events Management, has come under fire after the state Governor, Hope Uzodinma, handed vehicles and smart phones to youths as a Valentine’s Day present.
Hope Uzodimma reaffirmed his commitment to youth empowerment by handing away over 2,700 cellphones and two automobiles to Imo youths during the ‘Hope for Imo’ Valentine Concert in Owerri on Saturday, according to Anaedoonline.ng.
Mr Joshua Okeke of Orlu LGA and Miss Blessing Emekwe of Ikeduru LGA were also awarded with two brand new Greely automobiles after winning a fortunate draw held at the program’s site.

During the occasion, the governor guaranteed the beneficiaries free airtime and data subscriptions, and vowed that the gesture will be repeated across the state’s three senatorial zones.
Nigerians, on the other hand, turned to social media to criticize Cubana Chief priest, the government’s special adviser on social events management, for proposing such a ridiculous concept on youth empowerment.
Giving smart phones to teenagers, according to social media users, would only encourage them to engage in fraudulent acts like Yahoo.
They said that instead of buying smart phones and giving them automobiles, the government should create an enabling atmosphere and encourage young people to start small enterprises.

One Instagram user, dohaty9 called out the government for encouraging youths to venture into yahoo. Another user blamed Cubana Chief Priest for suggesting such as an idea, she wrote; “am sure it’s cubana chiefpriest that suggested the silly idea “
