The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has stated that its National Convention will not take place on Saturday, February 26 as previously planned.
According to Anaedoonline.ng, the APC will now announce a new date for its much-anticipated conference.
This is because the party has informed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) that it would have zonal congresses first, rather than its National Convention.

The letter, dated Monday, February 21, 2022, and jointly signed by Governor Mai Mala Buni, chairman of the Caretaker and Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), and Senator John Akpanudoedehe, secretary of the committee, was addressed to INEC Chairman Professor Mahmood Yakubu.
In a letter seen by our reporter, the APC stated that Monday’s notice supersedes its prior notice to INEC regarding the holding of a National Convention.
It encouraged the electoral organization to send observers to its zone congress, which is set to take place on March 26, 2022.
However, no new date for the APC National Convention has been announced.
