Prof. Babatunde Ogunnaike, co-author of Nigeria’s National Anthem, has died.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, the Chemical Engineer and Statistician died at the age of 65.

The Ogun State-born Ijebu Igbo was one of five residents whose words and phrases were merged to create the country’s anthem.

Gbenro Adegbola, a well-known Nigerian educationist and publisher, reported Ogunnaike’s death to the press on Tuesday.
