Protect Yourselves Nigeria Tells Her Citizens in Ukraine Following The Ongoing Threats Of War

The government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, through her embassy in Ukraine, has advised Nigerian citizens living in that war-threatened country to protect themselves and be safe following the ongoing invasion and possible war orchestrated by Russia.

This is made known in a statement released by the embassy, following the panic of most foreign, as well as indigenous, residents of Ukraine.

The statement also reads that anyone who wishes to relocate to a safer environment for the time being should ensure that one’s resident, and other necessary, documents are up to date, especially if one intends to return to Ukraine afterwards.

In view of the current developments in Ukraine, all Nigerians resident in Ukraine and environs, including students, and their relations in Nigeria, are hereby advised to contact the Embassy of Nigeria in Kiev, Ukraine, for matters pertaining to enquiries, consular and welfare requests and emergencies on:

  8. Nigerians are hereby further advised to take their individual and collective safety and security very seriously: avoid unnecessary travels within the country, especially to identified hotspots in Eastern Ukraine; and ensure that they carry requisite identification at all times.
