Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry in Enugu, Nigeria, has sent a warning to Enugu State Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi about the prohibition on motorbikes (Okadas), tricycles, and dump trucks in three local government areas of the state.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, Ugwuanyi issued Executive Order No.1: 2022 on Thursday, prohibiting the operation of tricycles, motorcycles, and dump trucks throughout the whole Nkanu East, Nkanu West, and other towns in Enugu South LGA.

On Sunday, Father Mbaka reacted by accusing the governor of making the decision without considering the consequences for the poor.

Mbaka said, “I have been asking and pleading that they should release Nnamdi Kanu. It appeared as if once Nnamdi Kanu is arrested banditry, crisis, killings will end, instead, after he had been arrested things worsened. Situations are worsening every day which now proves that holding him has not provided any solution.

“Anybody who makes a law that should not be made should be ready to face the consequences. The poor masses should not continue to suffer and suffer and suffer. And I am pleading with the leaders of Enugu State, There is no job.

“If some people don’t go out with their Keke, their parents, wives, and children will not eat. Their sick mothers will not take any medicine. If you catch any Keke person that commits any crime, punish the person. You cannot generalise the sin of one to everybody. No.”
