Paul Merson, an Arsenal icon, has selected his favorite team to win the UEFA Champions League this season.
Chelsea won the Champions League last season after defeating Manchester City in the final.
Merson, on the other hand, predicts that Chelsea or Liverpool will win the Champions League this season.

After Liverpool overcame Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday, he stated this.
“I saw the game yesterday, and those two aren’t far from winning the Champions League. They have Europe’s greatest two defenses, and keeping clean sheets is essential if you want to win the Champions League over two legs,” Merson told Sky Sports.
“I believe those teams have the firepower they need to move forward. ‘Well, it was a 0-0,’ some may say, but it wasn’t a 0-0 game, was it? It was fantastic. Excellent goaltending, defence, and center-forward play.
“Although the finishing was not particularly impressive, it demonstrated to me that both teams are very much in contention for the Champions League.

“It’ll come down to one of the two [winners]. They’re fantastic in the back. Man City is one of my favorite teams, and they will give you a chance.
“I believe Liverpool has a better chance than the Premier League to win the Champions League. They can lose three more Champions League games and still win the competition, but they have no chance if they lose three Premier League games.
