Russia-Ukriane War: Nigerian Youths Storm Embassy, Volunteer To Fight For Ukraine

A group of young volunteers has reacted to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s recent appeal for people all around the world to join the battle against Russia.

This comes at a time when Nigerians in Ukraine are attempting to return home owing to the war’s damage.

Over 115 young men pledged to help Ukraine in its struggle against Russia on March 1st, according to the Guardian.

Bohdan Soltys, the Ukraine Embassy’s Second Secretary, revealed that about a hundred men surrounded the Ukrainian Embassy in Abuja to aid the country’s fight against Russia.

They were claimed to have entered their names in an embassy-provided.

However, the United States of America President, Joe Biden, has warned Russia’s Vladimir Putin against attacking any member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

Anaedoonline.ng reports that Biden gave the warning during his first State of the Union speech on Tuesday night.

He stated that the US military will not engage Russian forces in the current battle in Ukraine.

According to the US president, the North American world power will be banning all Russian Airlines from its airspace.

“Let me be clear, our forces are not engaged and will not engage in conflict with Russian forces in Ukraine,” Biden said. “Our forces are not going to Europe to fight in Ukraine, but to defend our NATO Allies – in the event that Putin decides to keep moving west. Every single inch.”
