2023 Presidency: Atiku Abubakar Meets PDP Senators

If elected President, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has pledged to defend Nigerians’ constitutional independence and freedom.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, Abubakar stated this at a meeting with Senators from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abuja on Wednesday.

The PDP chieftain noted that his desire to see the country prosper prompted his bid to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari.

Abubakar voiced confidence in his ability to serve as the PDP’s flagbearer, claiming that he both the mental and physical energy to do so.

If elected President in 2023, the former vice president committed to cooperate with the National Assembly to achieve a smooth and cautious legislative process.

“I want to work in unison with the National Assembly and defend constitutional independence and freedom when we go into power,” he stated. The majority of the adjustments we want to make involve constitutional modifications, which we can’t do without the National Assembly’s help.

“I want to make sure that the legislative process goes as smoothly as possible.” I will do my best and work with our party’s lawmakers and outstanding resourceful individuals; I have the mental and physical energy to fully serve our party.

“Above all, it is my passion for the progress of this country that drives my quest for the Presidency of this country.”

In a Facebook post after the meeting, Abubakar said he got reassuring responses from the PDP lawmakers regarding his quest to become president.

He wrote: “I just concluded my consultation with senate caucus of the PDP. The responses from the Senators about the prospects of fixing Nigeria & bringing prosperity to our people are reassuring. I thank you all Distinguished Senators for making time for tonight’s interaction.”
