N’Golo Kante, a Chelsea midfielder, has responded to the news that Roman Abramovich is selling Chelsea Football Club.

Kante said that Abramovich’s startling decision to sell Chelsea took the Chelsea players off guard, and that they were unprepared for it.

Abramovich, who purchased Chelsea for £140 million in 2003, has overseen the club’s collection of 19 trophies, including every eligible championship.

In a statement, Abramovich stated that all of the sale’s net revenues will be donated to the victims of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.

“It’s something we weren’t prepared [for], it happened suddenly,” Kante said of the development to Sky Sports News.

“Because we have no control over these things, the only thing we can do is do the best we’ve always done.”

“Which means playing football at the highest [possible level] for ourselves, the club, and the fans, and seeing how things are going, since it’s the only thing we have control over.”

“I have had many amazing seasons with the squad, the coaches, and the supporters since I got here,” Kante continued.

“I hope we can carry on like this, keep winning, and that is the way I see the future.”
