Former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode has chastised Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State for his comments on the removal of Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State as the All Progressives Congress’s (APC) Caretaker Chairman.
On Friday, Fani-Kayode said he was not there when President Muhammadu Buhari ordered the dismissal of Mai Mala Buni as the APC’s Caretaker Chairman.
He also expressed his reservations that President Buhari would act without first respecting the law.
APC Leadership Crisis: Gov El-rufai Reveals Who Ordered Buni’s Removal As Chairman
Fani-Kayode chastised Nasir El-Rufai, the Governor of Kaduna State, for stating on television that Buhari had dismissed the Governor of Yobe State as the party’s Caretaker Chairman.
He went on to say that El-actions Rufai’s made President Buhari look like a tyrant.
On Channels Television on Friday, Fani-Kayode questioned if the President actually approved Buni’s departure.
“I was not present when the President ordered Buni’s dismissal,” he claimed.
He wasn’t there either. I seriously doubt that the President would listen to one side while disobeying the order. I doubt he’d do it if it wasn’t against the law.”
JUST IN: El-Rufai Finally Breaks Silence On 2023 Presidency Ambition
“I’ve never seen a minister, governor, or even a party chairman go on national television and declare the President has approved someone and everyone should sit down.” This country’s President is a democratic, moral man who would never act in such a manner.
“Even if the President told them so, El-Rufai should not come on national television and reveal it or begin to portray the President as a tyrant.” We live in a country where laws must be followed.
If the President wishes to get rid of Buni, we’ll follow the law.”
