The Anambra State Police Command has stated that residents of the state who want to host events must tell them so that security may be provided.

CP Echeng Echeng, the State Commissioner of Police, stated that this is in response to two gunman assaults on funeral rites in the state.

Echeng told the State that security service delivery had improved and that the Command was ready to handle any security emergency.

“The CP encouraged Anambra residents to always notify the police and other security agencies of the location, date, and time of such activities.”
This will allow police to enter the area and ensure that no security breaches occur before, during, or after the action,” he stated.

A group of people suspected of being cultists raided a burial site two weeks ago and shot and killed roughly 20 people.

“On the two sad incidences seen in the State, the police were not told of these burial activities before they commenced,” Ikenga stated in a news statement.
