Abba Kyari, the former chief of the Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team, is 47 today (Thursday).

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency is now holding the suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police (NDLEA).

According to the troubled police officer’s Facebook page, he was born on “March 17, 1975.”

NDLEA Approach Court For Extension To Detain Abba Kyari

Kyari began his career as a cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police at the Wudil Police Academy in Kano State in 2000. (ASP).

Following that, the officer was sent to the Song Police Division of the Adamawa State Police Command for his one-year required attachment.

Kyari was described as a super cop due to his effort in tracking down criminals across the country with the support of IRT.

Things however went south after he was linked to a fraudulent transaction involving internet fraudster, Ramon Abass, popularly known as Hushpuppi.

While the force was still investigating the allegation levelled against Kyari, NDLEA accused him of being involved in a 25kg cocaine deal.

Drug Trafficking: DCP Abba Kyari’s Plan Exposed By NDLEA

The NDLEA filed an eight-count charge bordering on drug trafficking against him and others, including ACP Sunday Ubia, ASP Bawa James, Insp. Simon Agirigba and Insp. John Nuhu, who are IRT members.

Kyari is still been held in the detention of the agency after being denied bail.
