The Nigeria Police Force’s Anambra State Command has declared that it would not contemplate arresting Ebelechukwu Obiano, the former first lady of the state and wife of the late Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Bianca.

Following a public fight between the two ladies at the swearing-in ceremony for Charles Chukwuma Soludo as the Anambra State Governor, the police spokesman in Anambra, Ikenga Tochukwu, announced this on Thursday.

Though he recognized that what happened between them constituted a breach of the public peace, he said that security personnel on the scene at the Government House event had already managed to get the situation under control.

He said since there has been no further escalation after the situation was brought under control, there would be no need for any arrest to be made.

Tochukwu however added that should the need arise for the Police to interphase between the two women, it would be done without hesitation.

“Because of the intervention of security personnel, the quarrel between the two personalities didn’t escalate. Meanwhile, the event continued without any further problems and if there is any need to interface between the two, the Police Command will do so,” the PRO told Newsmen.
