A Boeing 737 passenger airliner operated by China Eastern Airlines crashed in South China on Monday.

According to Chinese official media, 133 people were on board the plane that crashed into a mountain and caught fire.

According to a second source, the jet was involved in an unidentified accident before crashing into the earth in a rural area of China’s southern Guangxi province.

The number of casualties is unknown at the time of submitting this report, but there are efforts on in the Mountainous region to save any survivors.

“A Boeing 737 passenger plane carrying 133 people from China Eastern Airlines crashed in Teng County, Wuzhou, Guangxi, and triggered a mountain fire,” the Guangxi Emergency Management Department stated in a statement.

“At present, rescue teams have assembled and approached, and the casualties are unknown.”
