Mr. Magnus Iganda, a commander of the Ebubeagu security force, was purportedly assassinated in Ebonyi State’s Ezza North Local Government Area.
According to the report, gunmen who have yet to be identified broke into his home on Wednesday morning and shot him dead.
Mr. Emeka Nwonu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Publicity Secretary in Ezza North Local Government Area and a native of the area, verified the occurrence in a statement on Thursday.

He characterized the assassination of the Ebubeagu commander as terrible and brutal, and urged security authorities in the state to apprehend his assailants.
He said: ”The All Progressives Congress, APC Ezza North Local Government Area has received with shock, the sad news of the gruesome murder of the Commander of Ebubeagu Security Outfit, Ezza North Local Government Area, Mr Magnus Iganga, by yet-to-be identified gunmen in the early hours of today.
“The news about his killing is shocking, and we wonder why some individuals take delight in the termination of lives of fellow humans instead of being the keepers of those fellows as instructed by the scriptures to be our brothers’ keepers.”
When contacted by Newsmen, the State’s Police Public Relations Officer, Loveth Odah confirmed that there was violence in the Local Government on Wednesday.
