Senator Theodore Orji, the representative of the Abia Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly and a former governor, repeated his views on power transfer to the Abia North senatorial zone ahead of the 2023 gubernatorial election in Abia State on Tuesday.

This comes on the heels of a news item in some sectors of the media claiming that the ex-governor had been misinterpreted.

Senator Orji, who is also a PDP chieftain, reiterated his earlier declaration on Tuesday in Umuahia, the state capital, that the rotational agreement known as the “Abia Charter of Equity,” which mandated that Abia State’s governorship seat be assigned to the Abia North zone, be followed.

“Let me clarify unequivocally that my previous opinion on the topic remains sacred and unmistakable.

“All those attempting to set Abia state ablaze should take the road of peace, reconsider, and maintain the tranquility we have enjoyed as God’s Own State.”

“No one’s desire or aspiration, no matter how lofty, is greater than that of Abia State,” Orji added.
