The Anambra state chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has set a date for its rerun elections and congresses.

Debo Ologunagba, the state’s National Publicity Secretary, said this in a statement on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, about party plans in the state’s 12 impacted local government areas (LGAs).

On April 2, 2022, the party will elect new State Executive Officers to serve as National Delegates in each local government region.

Oyi, Aguata, Ihiala, Onitsha South, Onitsha North, Ayamelum, Anambra West, Orumba South, Orumba North, Dunukofia, Anambra East, and Ekwusigo are among the impacted local government areas.

The PDP’s National Working Committee (NWC) approved the statement, which nominated many party members to serve on the Electoral Committee to monitor operations.

The committee will be chaired by Chief Emmanuel Ogidi, with Barr. Neli Ikpe, Prince Yandev Amabai, Emmanuel Ibeshi, Alh. Kabiru Aliyu, and Hon. George Daika as members, and Hon. Austin Nwachukwu as secretary.

The party invited all party officials, key stakeholders, and members in Anambra State to work together to develop the party ahead of the elections and as the country’s most powerful political party.

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the People’s Democratic Party postponed the Anambra State Congress from March 5 to March 12, 2022, and is conducting a repeat election for integrity purposes.
