Charles Soludo, the Governor of Anambra State, has stated that his administration is granting “amnesty” to the state’s agitators.

This was said by Soludo during a Sunday interview with Channels Television.

South-East states, especially Anambra, have seen a series of violent attacks in recent months, with security officers bearing the brunt of the onslaught.

Despite being halted by the Indigenous People of Biafra, the weekly sit-at-home order was reinstated on Monday (IPOB).

“Within the agitation movement, we must admit that there are now divisions,” Soludo added. There’s one in Finland led by a man named Simon Ekpa.

“IPOB has come out to accuse that group of being behind much of the criminality in the South-East.

“A lot of them in the bush out there are having camps here and there. They come out to kidnap and kill. Once we isolate all the groups that are not involved in this, then we can focus on the criminals.

“We have also offered them some kind of amnesty. Come out, give us your guns, we are prepared to give you training in whatever skills, even if we have to raise resources to empower you to become useful partners in the development of society.”
