Following a proposed law by the House of Representatives, social media users criticized prominent crossdresser James Brown for denying being a crossdresser.
Following a new measure introduced by a member of the House of Representatives, Umar Muda, the House of Representatives voted on Tuesday to outlaw cross-dressing in the country.
The measure, which was read aloud on the House floor on Tuesday, April 5, aims to make cross-dressing illegal, with the exception of those who do it for fun.

The bill proposes amending the 2013 Same-Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Act to include cross-dressing as an offense. Crossdressers like Bobrisky, James Brown, and others might face six months in prison if the bill becomes law.
James Brown reacting after some fans expressed concern for him said in a post shared on Instagram that he finds it disrespectful to be called a crossdresser.
According to James Brown, he had never been a crossdresser but a skit maker/entertainer, and he is not limited to what he wears.
He wrote: Please y’all I think you are mistaken things by tagging the CEO of Starrrr all over blogs to be taken to prison and my brand found this so disrespectful because I am not a crossdresser, I have never been a crossdresser, I am a skit maker/entertainer and entertainers are not limited to what to wear until now thanks to y’all for understanding.
