Williams Uchemba, a Nigerian actor, has encouraged women to leave their worship center if their pastors or Imams push them to return to violent marriages.

He said this after the death of Osinachi Nwachukwu, a well-known gospel singer.

In a post on his Instagram page, Williams Uchemba said that such a religious leader would need counselling for failing to see where the issue is causing a serious problem.

“If you are being mistreated via domestic violence and you report it to your pastor/imam/leas and he tells you to go back to the abuser’s house, change churches,” he wrote. Because your boss is in need of counseling as well.

And God help you if someone I know and care about come to me and tells me they have been abused by you whether physically or sexually or any kind. Thank God I have money I will make sure I use my last money to send you to jail.

“If you are going through Domestic abuse/ Violence of any kind LEAVE THE HOUSE FIRST, Na person why day alive day discuss forgiveness.”
