Prof Chukwuma Soludo, the governor of Anambra State, has said that some anonymous individuals are attempting to instill terror in the state through social media.

On Saturday evening, Soludo announced this on his verified Facebook account in a message headlined ‘I read you.’

In the post, the governor called social media as “essential infrastructure” that no real leader could ignore, adding that he spends a significant amount of time reading “the good, the terrible, and, if you choose, the ugly in this space.”

He, on the other hand, objected to certain individuals using it badly to instill terror in Anambra State, and asked them to pursue peace instead, beginning with their keyboards and what they write on social media.

I refer to them as “mental bugs,” and I propose that those of us who have a large following step up to begin the process of “debugging” by aggressively speaking out against shared ignorance.

“What we consume online has a huge impact on how we live our lives in the real world.” There’s a lot to gain from this area, a lot to learn from it, and a lot more to create from the depths of our infinite imaginations.

“Whatever the situation may be, I’ve discovered new reasons to increase my involvement here.”
