Unknown Gunmen Kill Miyyetti Allah Chairman, Three Others In Abuja

Gunmen ambushed and murdered Adamu Aliyu, Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders’ Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), in the Gwagwalada Area Council of Abuja on Thursday.

On Thursday, he was reportedly slain together with four other persons near Daku village in the council’s Dobi ward.

Three people were also taken, said to Mohammed Usman, Secretary of MACBAN, who confirmed the killing to Newsmen.

Three people were hurt, according to him, and were sent to the hospital for treatment.

He said that the late MACBAN chairman was retuning from Izom market in Niger State with six others when he was ambushed by gunmen.

“They were retuning from Izom market in Niger state where they went to sell cows, until just one kilometer to Daku village when the bandits suddenly emerged from the bush and opened fire on the truck, killing the MACBAN chairman and four others,” he said.

He gave the names of those killed as Saleh, Aliyu, Muhammadu and Saidu, saying they have been buried according to Islamic rites.

He said security operatives were at the community before the deceased were laid to rest.

Chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council, Alhaji Adamu Mustapha, also confirmed the incident.

The spokesperson of the FCT police command, DSP Adeh Josephine, did not pick calls for comments.
