Joe Igbokwe, the special advisor on drainage and water resources to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has implied that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo should drop out of the presidential campaign in 2023.

This comes after Vice President Yemi Osinbajo revealed his aspiration to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.

After months of rumors that he might enter the presidential campaign and repeated denials, Osinbajo officially declared.

In a statement, Igbokwe urged politicians who have been endorsed by Tinubu to get out of the presidential contest out of respect.

Under Tinubu’s reign as governor of Lagos State, Osinbajo served as attorney general and commissioner for justice.

According to sources, Tinubu recommended Osinbajo for Vice President in 2015. However, Osinbajo is prepared to fight his old boss for the APC presidential ticket.
