Rotimi Amaechi, Nigeria’s Minister of Transportation, has begun planning for a presidential run in 2023.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, the former Rivers State Governor was in Katsina State on Monday, specifically in Daura, to seek the blessing of the Emir of Daura, Dr. Umar Faruq.

Senator Ali Ndume of Borno, among others, joined Amaechi to Katsina.

The spokesperson tweeted, “Emir Umar just concluded praying for and blessing his Dan Amanar, Amaechi to proceed with bravery in the quest for the APC Presidential nomination in 2023.”

In Buhari’s homeland, Amaechi was given the traditional title of ‘Dan Amanar Daura,’ which means ‘trusted son of Daura.’

According to Anaedoonline.ng, Amaechi had already visited Kano State before heading to President Muhammadu Buhari’s hometown.

The minister paid visits to Aminu Ado Bayero, the Emir of Kano, and Nasir Ado Bayero, the Emir of Bichi, to solicit their support for his presidential bid.

Amaechi’s travel to the Northern States follows his proclamation of purpose last Saturday in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State.
