Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the besieged leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has written an open letter to his followers and all Biafra Nation sympathizers.
Last Friday, Kanu appeared in the Federal High Court in Abuja for the continuation of his trial, according to Anaedoonline.ng.
After the latest trial, which offered the agitator hope of freedom, Kanu’s legal team indicated on Tuesday that his release was already gaining pace.
Ifeanyi Ejiofor, Kanu’s main counsel, who spoke in Owerri yesterday following their meeting at the Department of State Services, DSS, detention facility in Abuja, said Kanu’s triumph was certain based on the “gains recorded” in the last court appearance at the Federal High Court in Abuja.
“On the 11th Day of April 2022, our Court-Ordered regular visit to our amicable Client – Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu was undertaken,” Ejiofor added. Advances recorded in the last court appearance were acknowledged, commended, and consolidations on the gains towards the upcoming legal onslaught were examined accordingly.”
Kanu’s message to all Biafra supporters throughout the world, according to Ejiofor, was “very excited” by the massive throng of Ezigbo UmuChineke who gathered beside the court during last Friday’s outing.
He made it clear that he was overjoyed and grateful for the progress.
“Kanu congratulated you all for your peaceful behaviour and solidarity,” he remarked. He also extended his deep appreciation to everyone who opted to stand shoulder to shoulder with him in solidarity, despite the economic loss that came with closing their different places of business on that particular day.
“Kanu recognises the fact that these sacrifices are unquantifiable/unequal and huge, and remains profoundly grateful to you all. This phase will soon come to pass. Onyendu emphatically noted that your sacrifices are not taken for granted, as he prayed to God Almighty to abundantly reward you all, and replenish this huge sacrifice in thousand folds.”
He added: “Kanu is no longer in doubt that the coast is getting clearer and in no distance time, his freedom will take place. Onyendu urged you all, his supporters, followers and all Ezigbo UmuChineke to remain focused as their journey to his freedom is gathering momentum.
“Be assured that your prayers are tremendously impacting positively. Hence, please do not relent nor despair Ezigbo UmuChineke, because it will surely end in victory soon. Onyendu, once again, commended Ezigbo UmuChineke for their extraordinary show of discipline, courage and selflessness thus far, and urged you all to keep up the good work,” Ejiofor narrated.
