Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the former governor of Kano State, has formally entered the race to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, the former Minister of Defense paid the N30 million necessary and received the presidential nomination and expression of interest forms for the New Nigeria Peoples Party on Tuesday (NNPP).

Kwankwaso was met in the NNPP’s national office by Prof. Rufai Alkali, the National Organising Secretary, Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi, and other members of the National Working Committee.

Kwankwaso lambasted the ruling APC and PDP for failing Nigerians despite providing them the chance to transform the country for the better after getting his form.

Recall that Kwankwaso had in February announced the formation of the Third Force party, under the aegis of The National Movement.

Others in the Third Force team included Sen. Hunkuyi of Kaduna State; former Minister of Youths and Sports Development, Solomon Dalung; popular Northern critic, Buba Galadima; and other prominent Nigerians.

According to them, the Third Force would take over power from the ruling All Progressives Congress in 2023.

Prominent Nigerians at the formation of the TF were elder statesman, Tanko Yakasai; Air Vice Marshall Ifeanaju; Solomon Edoda; Nweze Onu; Falasade Aliyu; Rufai Alkali; Suleiman Hunkuyi; Grace Ben; Umale Shittu; Ibrahim Ringim; Ali Gwaska; Paul Okala; Rufai Hanga; Idris Wada; Abdulrahman Abubakar, among several others.
