The governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, paid a visit to Adamawa on Thursday to solicit delegates’ support for his presidential bid.
Wike was visiting the Government House in Yola, the state capital, to seek the support of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) delegates ahead of the party’s presidential nomination, according to Anaedoonline.ng.
PDP delegates, on the other hand, bluntly rejected the Rivers State governor, informing him that their votes were reserved for Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President.

When Atiku challenged President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2019 presidential election, he was the party’s final presidential candidate.
Wike has previously stated that he was in Atiku Abubakar’s home state because he was more equipped to run on the PDP ticket.
He, therefore, urged the delegates to pick the party’s presidential candidate without tribal, religious and regional considerations.
However, the PDP chairman in the state, Tahir Shehu, dramatically responded that Adamawa delegates were not for him.
