On Tuesday, a group of enraged youths in Owo, Ondo State, pursued the majority leader of the state House of Assembly, Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi, also known as ‘West,’ out of town.
According to Anaedoonline.ng, the teenagers drove the legislator and his entourage out of the Iloro village due to claimed poor performance and imposition.
During a meeting with certain officials of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) in the community, Ogunmolasuyi, who represents Owo Constituency 1, was allegedly harassed.
As the congressman and his entourage were taken away by his security personnel, the teenagers were heard throwing abuses on them in a viral video.
Ogunmolasuyi denied claims of underperformance and imposition, saying he has given out scholarships, and palliatives and carried out several developmental projects in his constituency.
He told reporters: “I was there to meet with my party people. It was after I left those people in the video are thugs. I have left and was told there was a video circulating.
“Those guys are thugs. Those guys are not the people that will reject anybody. They were all PDP people. PDP has failed and they are looking for a way to make themselves popular through me.
“My contribution is enough to speak for me. If I have not done well, I will not come out to say I want to contest.
“I have represented my people well and done so many things. That is why I can say I want to seek re-election.”
