Ovie Omo-Agege, the Deputy Senate President, claims to be the author of the Electoral Act of 2022, which was just enacted by the National Assembly.

The Delta gubernatorial hopeful stated in a viral video acquired by Naija News that he created the electoral act because of local politics in the South-South state.

The congressman, speaking in Pidgin English, urged all APC members in the states not to be scared of politicians who are in control now that the governing party is in power.

However, there were controversies surrounding the insertion of some clauses by members of the National Assembly during the process of amending the electoral act.

Initially, the bill was rejected by President Muhammadu Buhari over the insertion of the clauses but it was later signed by the president after an amendment.
