2023: Saudi Arabia Police Arrests 30 Nigerians For Displaying Tinubu’s Campaign Poster In Mosque

Thirty Nigerians were detained in Saudi Arabia for displaying a campaign poster of Bola Tinubu, the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, at the sacred shrine of Kaaba.

The Nigerians were allegedly detained while going around the Kaaba with Tinubu’s posters lifted, according to sources. The event occurred before to the Eid-El-Fitr (Sallah) festival.

An eyewitness identified as Murtala Adamu Jega who spoke with Newsmen said, “I’m a witness; I saw them lift Bola Tinubu’s posters at the holy Kaaba.

“This is despicable. Instead of them devout precious time to pray for peace to return to our country, 30 men made a mockery of our nation by lifting a politician’s posters in the holy place. Thank God, Saudi authorities were swift to have arrested them right there and then.”

Another Nigerian who was at the mosque, Zainab Abdullahi, said, “the scenario was a very bad representation of Nigeria’s image before the world, and I think politicians must desist from this bad behaviour.”

Tinubu is hoping to emerge as the President of Nigeria at the end of President Muhammadu Buhari’s Tenure in 2023.
