Compensation Owner Of Burnt Livestock Truck In Anambra – Yobe NARTO Demands

The Nigerian Association of Road Transport Owners, Potiskum section in Yobe State, has petitioned the Anambra State government to compensate the owner of a truck transporting animals that was set fire by suspected arsonists.

Some criminal elements set fire to a vehicle with the registration number TO 168 YB at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 8, 2022.

Manga Mohammed, Chairman of NARTO Potiskum Unit, made the request during a press conference on Monday.

He believes there is no reason why members of the Association should face violence and harassment while conducting their lawful business of transporting commodities from the north to the south.

“Our members are performing their legitimate business of transporting goods to the southern parts of the country, why should they be attacked and harassed. Nigeria is the only country we have. Why can’t we live peacefully with one another”, he queried.

Mohammed onbehalf of the Association called on the Anambra State government to compensate Lawan Tukur, the owner of the burnt trailer truck to reduce his hardship

“This truck is carrying a legal commodity and meant to improve the economy of Anambra State”, he said.
