Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Central Senator and 2023 gubernatorial candidate, has responded to the death of Arthur Nzeribe, a Nigerian politician.

Senator Sani claimed on his Twitter account on Sunday evening that many of the current generation of Nigerians may not remember who Nzeribe was.

The former congressman went on to say that the late millionaire, who is suspected of playing a crucial part in the annulment of the popular June 12 presidential election, is someone who should not be approached or kept at a distance.

He also called him a controversial outcast.

“Chief Arthur Nzeribe; young people may not know who he was; by the time they came of age, he had retreated to a private life. He was an unforgettable factor in our nation’s history. A controversial maverick & a man you shouldn’t bring close nor keep him afar. May his soul rest in peace,” Sani wrote.

It will be brought up again Senator Arthur Nzeribe, according to Anaedoonline.ng, is dead.

After fighting an unidentified illness, he was claimed to have died on Saturday evening at the age of 83.

Nzeribe, the longest-serving Senator from Imo, was said to have been on life support for some time.

The late politician represented Imo West in the National Assembly during the First Republic.

At the age of 22, Nzeribe had struck it rich, becoming a key participant in the country’s financial industry.

Providence smiled on him, and he rose to become one of Nigeria’s most powerful and prominent politicians.

In 1999, he was elected to the Senate to represent Orlu.
