Goodluck Jonathan’s inclusion in the All Progressives Congress, APC, has been welcomed by Deji Adeyanju, an Abuja-based activist.
Jonathan, according to Adeyanju, is the only candidate who can fight the APC’s national leader, Alhaji Bola Tinubu, for the party’s nomination.
The APC presidential nomination and expression of interest papers for the former Nigerian leader were acquired by the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders’ Association of Nigeria on Monday.

However, the previous President has stated that he was unaware of the transaction and did not sanction it.
Though the circumstances of Jonathan’s meeting with APC National Chairman Abdullahi Adamu are unclear, he is said to have informed the APC chairman that he was unaware of the acquisition of the forms.
However, Adeyanju feels that the former Nigerian leader made the correct decision, and that Tinubu will be upset by the news.
“Former President Goodluck Jonathan has joined the ruling APC. This is a welcome development because GEJ is one of those who can effectively challenge the god of Lagos.
“Tinubu and those pushing the Yoruba presidency will be so angry right now, but on Igbo presidency I stand,” Adeyanju wrote.
