Bashir Ahmaad, a close adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari, has verified Goodluck Jonathan’s switch to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Bashir confirmed the news in a tweet on Thursday, in response to those who questioned his prior forecast that the former President would join the ruling party.
His tweet read: “When I shared the news of former President Jonathan joining our party, his uninformed supporters insulted me saying it can never happen even in the wildest dream.

“They should know that we know something they don’t know and not everything is planned and executed on social media.”
On Monday, a northern group allegedly acquired the ruling party’s N100 million nomination and expression of interest forms for former President Jonathan.
Despite Jonathan’s denial of knowledge of the form, the former President made a visit to the APC’s National Chairman and former Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Adamu, at his Abuja house the same evening.
According to sources, the former President was at Adamu’s mansion to seek assurance from the ruling party before decamping from the Peoples Democratic Party.

Sources privy to their discussions told Newsmen that although the APC Chairman welcomed the former President to the ruling party, there was absolutely no assurance that he could be handed the party’s presidential ticket.
