Atiku Abubakar, a presidential aspirant for the Peoples Democratic Party, has announced his vision for Nigeria’s south-east, according to Anaedoonline.ng.

With the general elections in 2023 approaching, the former Vice President informed the region that one of his priorities is to guarantee that the Igbo people’s aspirations are met even after he is elected president.

The Adamawa man pleaded with the people of the Southeast to vote for him to become Nigeria’s next president.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, Atiku made the remarks at a meeting with Abia State Special Delegates to the PDP National Convention at the Government House Banquet Hall on Sunday, May 15.

“Nobody can label me anti-East or anti-race,” the presidential candidate said, emphasizing that the South-East is his genuine focus.

According to him, by 2023, PDP would have been in opposition for 8 years, stating, “We must win the next election. Would we like to go back? Do we want to remain in opposition? These are the questions before us.

“Your aspiration as Igbo people will materialise and be realized. So, give me victory so that your aspiration will be realized.

“Together, we can achieve these goals if we unite as PDP and fight for power.”
